Implementing energy management

KK Enterprise is the first SME in Taiwan passed the certification of ISO 50001 energy management system. Furthermore, it has planted the concept of energy saving to the core of the Company governance through the energy management system.

Current status of energy consumption

After introducing ISO 50001 energy management system in 2011, KK traces energy performance indicator of the entire factory each year. Through the identification of significant energy consumption sequence, the digital meters are installed on the equipment that has the largest energy consumption and the clean room to accurately monitor the energy consumption and continue to seek for the chance of saving energy.

Renewable energy

In 2013, KK installed two solar panel systems at the rooftop of the factory buildings; they were System 1 and System 2 with 499.61KWp and 264.14 KWp respectively.
The annual power generation in 2022 is approximately 770,000 kilowatt-hours. According to the 111 annual electricity emission coefficient announced by the Energy Bureau ( about 0.509 kilograms of CO2 are emitted per kilowatt-hour of electricity ), it is equivalent to reducing CO2 emissions by 392 metric tons, which is equivalent to afforestation of 23.5 hectares.
